The Association of California Property Tax Advisors was founded by Stephen F. Dunbar.  The Association is dedicated to providing information and answers to commonly asked questions regarding California Property Taxation.

About Stephen F. Dunbar:

Stephen F. Dunbar has spent over 35 years in the California property tax system, both prior to and after the passage of Proposition 13.

Prior to opening his own tax consulting business, he spent 15 years in county property tax assessment.  He was elected to the Mariposa County Assessors Office in 1978 and appointed to the Chief Assistant Assessor's position for the City and County of San Francisco in 1991.  During his term, he also served as President of the Central/Southern California Assessor's Association.

He has spent the last 17 years working for individuals on property tax issues.  For 15 years, he was a frequent guest on a real estate radio call-in show on KNBR, AM 680 as an expert in property taxation.  Mr. Dunbar has been interviewed by CNN and Bay Area TV news.  He has been quoted in most Bay Area newspapers, including the San Francisco Chronicle and San Francisco Examiner. 

Steve currently holds a General Certified Appraisal License issued by the State of California and possesses a State Board of Equalization Certificate for property tax appraising.
